Since this is not an official Esperanza Para Los Ninos website, we can only explain how we choose to help these children.
When we visit, we are given a list “in English” of all their normal foods, cleaning, and medicinal needs. From this list, we inventory their current stock and determine what they need the most.
On our last trip, they were really pleased to get baby formula, they were out. They always need fresh foods, such as, chicken, fruits and veggies, margarine, cheese, milk etc...
I guess what I'm trying to say is ---
You could send a check to Lukeville, AZ
Casa Hogar para los desamparados

or better yet.....
Go down and see what they need.
I guarantee it will be a memorable experience. Take as many spoiled teenager as you can haul. No matter how much you give, you will receive more from this trip.

Well meaning folks are constantly bringing their old bicycles, out-grown kids clothes, and toys to the home. As you see in the pictures, these kids are well dressed and have plenty of bicycles and toys.

What they so desperately need is FRESH FOOD!
When I go to the home, I get a list of their current needs, then go to the market and buy those items. I also might get some Ice Cream. Have you ever watched a kid patiently squish his ice cream into a liquid so he can thinly coat his spoon to make it last longer? I have!

When my son and I asked the director, Guellermo, what we could do to help, he showed us the rotted evaporative cooler that used to cool the girls dormitory during the sweltering Sonora Desert nights. He then showed us the one in the main room that was in not much better condition. He said he hoped that the boys cooler would last one more year.

These coolers are about four foot square units worth many hundreds of dollars and completely out of the Home's budget. I did a little research and found a factory that manufactured the coolers.

The manager of the plant at Naco, Mexico, and his staff have big hearts.

When they saw who was getting these coolers, they made it possible for us to supply four units that will keep the kids cool for many years.

YEA, MASTER COOL!
